Out of sheer desperation from battling complex health challenges like anorexia, infertility, chronic fatigue syndrome, Raynaud’s disease, allergies, and digestive and endocrine disorders, I was driven to seek a different kind of medicine. As a Stanford graduate who once pursued pre-med studies, I traded the traditional path for literature, seeking a holistic approach that delved into the realms of the body and spirit.
My struggles drew me to the healing arts. I wanted to know what it truly meant to heal—not just superficially, but on a profound level that encompassed mind, body, and spirit. My journey led me to study myself—my relationship to the five elements, to yogic practices, to somatic and mind-centered therapies. I immersed myself in Ayurveda, nutrition, craniosacral therapy, polarity therapy, medical Qigong, and five-element theory. These ancient modalities not only brought me healing but also deep understanding.
Through this deep exploration, I discovered a profound truth: true balance and healing can only be achieved when we acknowledge the entirety of the human body and mind. This integration of different healing systems became my life’s work, culminating in the creation of Earth Medicine—a holistic framework that recognizes the interconnectedness of mind/body/spirit within oneself AND with the world around us.
Today, as the founder and director of Earth Medicine Institute Taos, author of "Earth Medicine: A Field Guide, Healing in Seasons and Cycles," a mother of four boys, and a practitioner of craniosacral therapy, I stand as a living testament to the power of holistic healing. My journey from illness to wellness has not only transformed my own life but has also fueled my passion for empowering others—especially energy healers and holistic practitioners—to deepen their understanding of the nervous system and enhance their healing practices.
Through my personal experiences and professional expertise, I am dedicated to providing practical tools and techniques for nervous system regulation so that practitioners can achieve better outcomes for their clients' health and well-being. And so that they can fully embody nervous system states that generate vitality in themselves and invite release, elevation and healing in others. It is my mission to share this knowledge and wisdom with those eager to delve deeper into the intricate world of energy medicine and holistic healing, guiding them on a path towards greater health, vitality, and spiritual growth.
